How are Choclatique Chocolates made?
Choclatique is a super-premium artisanal confection company. We produce our chocolates in our "Chocolate Studios" the old-fashioned way, by hand and upside down.
We first decorate the mold with the selected hand-painted design; then we cast the crowns in our base chocolates—dark, milk or white—in poly-carbonate molds imported from Belgium. The chocolate coated molds are then allowed to rest overnight in a temperature-controlled, cooled environment to give the delicate crystal structure ample opportunity to form. The centers are then added with the specified filling or ganache and allowed to rest again one more time before the base is placed on the top. Some of our selections take up to 3 days to prepare. Our chocolates are best consumed 10 to 60 days after they are made.
Is Choclatique Chocolate 100% chocolate?
No, it isn't... if it were you could hardly eat it and you certainly wouldn't enjoy it. Chocolate is comprised of chocolate liqueur and cocoa butter (both from the cacao bean), plus sugar, milk (in the case of milk chocolate) and flavorings.
Choclatique's Dark Chocolate contains 64% cacao; our Milk Chocolate contains 32% cacao, and our White Chocolate contains 33% cacao. We use no waxes or vegetable oils (other than cocoa butter), artificial colors or preservatives. There are "0" Trans Fats in Choclatique chocolates. Choclatique's final blends are bold, with the unique flavor characteristics of rare heirloom varietal chocolates.
What does "% cacao" mean?
This measurement indicates how sweet a chocolate is. Lower percentages mean sweeter chocolate. Technically, "% cacao" refers to the amount, by weight, of cacao bean plus cocoa butter in chocolate. The remaining weight is mostly sugar or milk and milk solids.
Is Choclatique's White Chocolate really chocolate?
Choclatique's white chocolate is definitely real chocolate! In fact, it contains 33% Cacao, mainly cocoa butter.
How long will my Choclatique Chocolates last?
That depends on how much self-control you have! Because our chocolates are hand-made fresh daily with no preservatives, it's always better to eat Choclatique Chocolates sooner rather than later. They will stay rich and flavorful and maintain their proper texture for up to 60 to 90 days, depending on how they are stored.
What is the best way to store Choclatique Chocolates?
Choclatique Chocolates are best stored in a cool, dry, dark place out of direct sunlight (and away from small children!). If sealed properly in an airtight container, they can be frozen, but they should always be allowed to gradually come back to room temperature before serving. Chocolate is best enjoyed at room temperature.

What is the white discoloration sometimes seen on dark and milk chocolate?
The white discoloration is called "Chocolate Bloom." Chocolate is a large crystalline structure. When chocolate gets a little too warm, it begins to soften, bringing the cocoa butter to the surface. When it gets firm again the delicate crystal structure may not find its original home causing the white marks to appear. It isn't pretty, but it cannot hurt you and will still taste great. There is no health risk. It is not mold. It's simply discolored chocolate.
Is Choclatique Chocolate Kosher?
The base chocolates used in preparation of our confections are Kosher inspected and supervised—OU-D, but our finished, molded and filled confections are not Kosher supervised and no such claims are made.
What if I'm allergic to nuts?
Nuts are used in the preparation of several of our confections in our Chocolate Studios. As such, there may be traces of nuts in all of our products.
Does Choclatique make anything that is sugar-free?
Not at this time, but please watch for our new Sweet Deceit® selections coming soon.
Does your chocolate contain soy lecithin?
All of our chocolate products contain the emulsifier soy lecithin.
